This is not a full stop.
It’s a break before the next sentence that tells the other part of the story and brings the material into a cohesive whole.
This is not a full stop.
It is merely a wait at the bus stop before we catch the bus heading to the next junction.
This is not a full stop.
It is just a delay before our connecting flight takes off to our desired destination.
It is not a full stop, it never was, and will never be.
But wait. Pause. Stop.
If it isn’t a full stop, what then is it?
A comma, a semi-colon, or another connective?
Because it should be a time to connect and to bring back our collective.
Sit back and call her to say hi.
It’s been a while, isn’t it?
And God knows she could a friend if you’d come out willingly.
We shall walk the streets again.
We will no longer need to hide our colorful smiles behind the veil of cotton and polyester.
For we as a people are strong — even though I give you the space of a meter, and the seat between us on the plane is empty.
We hold hands without touching. We raise our drinks in cheers without company. We sit back to plan knowing that after this, we build something.
For this is not a full stop, it is just the wait while we flip to the next page to catch the happy ending.
It is not a full stop, because life, is non-stop.
